Hi, friends! We are so excited to introduce the Perfectly Imperfect Home series, an initiative to encourage busy working women to creatively build a tranquil, functional, beautiful home.
At How She Does It, our mission is to promote the “whole person” concept of career success. That is, in order to truly succeed, we need to nurture every facet of ourselves: mentally, physically, spiritually, and interpersonally. One aspect of our lives that is easily neglected in the midst of a busy schedule is the space we come home to at the end of each day. We are so quick to put our homes on the back burner and turn our attention to matters that we deem more pressing than creating a lovely home. What we do not realize is that having a comfortable, functional, beautiful home is particularly important for busy women. Home can truly be an oasis, a place where meals are shared and slow cups of coffee sipped and thoughtful conversations change lives. Home is where are free to truly be who we are. Where growth happens. Where love happens. And the busier we are, the more our work schedules and the demands of life take us away from home, the more critical it is to cultivate a place of peace in stillness that will always ground us.
That, friends, is the mission behind the Perfectly Imperfect Home series. Here, we will share our own homes and the features we love. We will share the parts of our homes that drive us nuts, but that we’ve reclaimed and transformed in order to serve us and our families. We will share fun (and budget-friendly) DIY projects and advice on how to embrace limitations within our homes. We will encourage each other to make our homes the one thing in our lives that is stress-free and easy.
Sounds fun, right? Well, here’s the best part. We want you to join us! Hop over to Instagram and share a part of your home that you love with the tags #howshedoesitathome and #the perfectlyimperfecthome.
